Morpeth
Work is underway on the £30 million redevelopment of Morpeth town centre which will deliver 85,000 sq ft of retail space, an Edwardian style mall and landscaped piazza with high quality office accommodation at first floor level. Marks & Spencer has signed up as the anchor tenant leasing a 31,500 sq ft store which will trade over two storeys.
Phase one of the works is now complete and has delivered highway improvements and a new long stay car park. Construction on the main scheme starts in the Spring.
The development also includes the construction of a new transport interchange and and extension to the adjacent Morrisons supermarket.
